Kris is a pioneer of the load reduction leadership framework, exploring how leadership practices affect teachers’ cognitive load, which in turn impacts school-level performance and improvement potential. He has conducted several sequential case studies using public NYC & NYS school data, including his recent dissertation and multiple AERA papers. He works for NYC Public Schools at the district level, where he specializes in science pedagogy and curriculum implementation.
