Beverly Wertheimer is an in-person and online adjunct professor of psychology at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She teaches courses in behavioral theory, cognitive treatment interventions including CBT, DBT, and ACT, and instructs and builds curriculum on individual, couple, and family development across the lifespan. Wertheimer is committed to mentoring, supporting, and advocating for the next generation of clinicians and thinkers. Wertheimer is a licensed clinical social worker/psychotherapist and doctor of psychology specializing in youth and family therapy. She is an active member of Daybreak Health’s clinical practice advisory board and has led clinician continuing education training courses. Previously, Wertheimer was a therapist at USC Telehealth, working primarily with diverse populations of lower socioeconomic status. She also served as a school-based clinician, providing therapy to at-risk youth and their families. Wertheimer is a published mental health columnist. Her numerous articles have been featured in publications including The New Social Worker magazine, Brainz magazine, and Medical Care Review. Industry/teaching expertise includes youth and adult mental health, and individual, couple, and family development across the lifespan. Research interests include logotherapy, virtue ethics, and positive psychology.
