Kathleen Wallace

Dr. Kat Wallace is an assistant professor and the program director for the Education Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Sacred Heart University. Kat has taught at the collegiate, middle, and elementary levels. Her P12 career encompassed teaching English and literacy in Pk-8 and serving as a literacy coach and reading specialist in Pennsylvania Title I and urban schools. Kat’s final eight years in P12 were as the school principal in a Title I intermediate school. Dr. Wallace transitioned to higher education at the University of Bridgeport, where she taught in the Teacher Education Program and served as the Director of Elementary Education. At Sacred Heart, Kat teaches in the Educational Literacy and Leadership Department within the School Leader Preparation, Sixth-Year, and Doctoral programs. Kat teaches various courses in the EDD program, including the dissertation seminars, and serves on dissertation committees as chair and reader. Her research interests include applying the improvement science framework in the preparation of educators and school leaders with a focus on equitable opportunities and continuous improvement.
